Summer reading, arrrr, matey
Well, now that's it's cooled down some, I can post again.
The library this year held summer reading as usual. The theme was 'books: a treasure'. It was a piratey thing. For the teens, you had to read 100 pages or 160 minutes. I did pages mostly, except for the week I listened to talking books, so I used minutes instead. Once you had finished your reading for the week, you took in a sheet that you had to fill out, and you got a prize. They were small stuff, pirate stress balls, pencil sharpeners, other stuff.
As much as I love reading normally, I love getting rewarded for something I do normally anyway! Kinda like the way I want to get rewarded for emptying the dishwasher, making juice, vacuuming, etc.

You do get rewarded: dinner, quenching your thirst, no dust to sneeze at. Not to mention clean clothes, library messenger service, taxi, school lunches. But if it makes you happier I can get a box of "treats" to reward you for jobs well done.
BTW you do know I appreciate all that you help with. Sometimes I even remember to say "Thank You".
